The new XR200 loudspeaker from McIntosh combines outstanding imaging characteristics, power handling and limitless dynamics to deliver the immediacy of live musical performance in the home, every time you listen.
OVERVIEW
A 51” tall, three-way floor-standing point source design, the XR200 utilizes a 19-element midrange/tweeter array that is comprised of twelve 2” high-power, long throw titanium midrange drivers and seven ¾”, tinsel lead, magnetic fluid- cooled, titanium dome tweeters. The 19-element array is a proprietary McIntosh design, offering extraordinary clarity, image localization and depth with exceedingly low distortion.
Three custom-made 8” LD/HP bass drivers with 12 lbs magnet structures possess the speed and power to convey the most complicated bass transients and deliver crushing SPL’s. A single tuned port exits organ-pipe-style at the top of the enclosure and features unusually large diameter and long length for higher peak bass response, lower distortion and lower levels of power compression.
The enclosure is finished in a luxurious gloss black to complement any decor.

19-ELEMENT ARRAY
Twelve 2” midrange and seven 20mm tweeter drivers combine to yield a point source response similar to a coaxial midrange driver for superb imaging. This design yields an uncanny spaciousness and broad dispersion to the sound field. The multiple-driver approach features robust power handling and freedom from dynamic compression.
PROGRESSIVE INDUCTANCE CROSSOVER NETWORK
Using a technique developed for our line array loudspeakers, McIntosh engineers use special, progressive inductance crossover networks to link individual drivers in the 19-Element Array together in a way that eliminates the comb filtering effects that plague typical multi-element designs.
TRIPLE BINDING POSTS
Separate binding posts are provided for Low, Mid and High connections. Each XR200 is designed as a highly flexible system and may be powered with one, two or three amplifier channels in support of bi-amp and tri-amp configurations.
PATENTED LD/HP TECHNOLOGY
McIntosh Low Frequency Loudspeaker Elements feature the patented LD/ HP Driver Design. This design, when compared to that of conventional drivers, reduces distortion significantly. It also increases power handling and efficiency.
