A Compact Knockout
“If this were real life, I’d be leaning in and I’d be whispering this; don’t let anyone know, but every fibre says this is Audio Research Reference amplifier combination-grade sonic performance, but with £10,000-£15,000 lopped off the price.” Alan Sircom, Hi-Fi+ 114, September 2014

The VSi75 integrated amplifier breaks new ground in an ‘all in one’ product design, setting a new musical benchmark for moderately-priced amplifiers, vacuum-tube or solid-state. For those not needing an integral DAC or phono stage, the VSi75 is a compact, integrated knockout. This robustly built amplifier is every inch an Audio Research.

Our VSi75 is one of the most compact products we make. The display shows volume, selected input, and serves double duty to check the bias of the four KT150 output tubes. The convenient remote control puts functionality at your fingertips. The VSi75 succeeds on many levels; it is the perfect entry into the world of High Definition sound for some, while its high quality makes it a destination for music lovers craving everything Audio Research brings to the table in a handsome, compact package.

Performance-wise, the VSi75 is in an entirely different league from the competition for a number of reasons. It’s wide bandwidth output transformers and proprietary coupling caps are found in the revered Reference 75SE, and the power transformer is designed around the KT150 output tube. The resulting sound is striking. With tremendous resolution of detail, silky and extended highs, surprising weight and authority, the VSi75 is able to develop an immense sound stage. You feel a very real connection with the musician, in a way normally reserved for a live event. The VSi75 sounds very much like the amp from which it borrows, the REF 75SE, with an immediacy, delicacy and focus that is captivating.

After nearly 50 years, our focus remains the advancement of the state-of-the-art in music reproduction. Every component is meticulously hand-crafted and personally auditioned before it leaves our factory. Our attention to detail, customer service, and product support create unprecedented value. An Audio Research component is more than a purchase, it’s an investment.

We encourage you to stop by one of our dealers and listen for yourself – the VSi75 is a compact wonder capable of bringing the smallest or largest speakers to life.
